9 months - movin and groovin!

As you can see from the photos, Cali is crawling!!! She started trying it out about 3 weeks ago but she could only figure out how to go backwards - then one day it clicked and she could alternate her legs and arms and go forward. She also learned (I think maybe from her friends at "school") how to tuck a leg and sit up from the crawling position. What's funny is she ends up in odd positions as she pushes back on her bottom and wherever she lands, that's where she sits!

Like the first photo...she pushed back into dad while they were hanging out watching the game on Sunday - so I grabbed the camera. Then we enticed Cali with her stackable cups so she would crawl toward me and I got some more cute ones.

New things since last month: crawling, pulling up to her knees, 3 teeth coming in on the top, moves all around her bed (crawling, flipping, pulling up on the side) sometimes before passing out asleep on her tummy, likes to pull things out of bins and boxes (like when I'm folding laundry, but she has toy bins, too), especially likes air vents and electrical cords, is learning the word "no," trying new foods like cheese and beans, is ticklish all over (like mommy), shrieks a lot when she's excited or wants something (it's a stage, right??), holds her own bottle, claps, reaches for you when you pick her up.

Cali laughs and smiles a lot and she babbles about all sorts of stuff even though we have no idea what she's saying! It's fun to watch her explore the new world that has opened up around her now that she can move around. I bet her cute rolls will be falling off soon now that she's moving...I'm happy that she's growing and learning but sad that my baby is becoming a little girl.
