Snow in Spring

It's spring and it's snowing - how crazy is that? Cali, when you are older and look back at your blog, I thought you might want to know what was going on in history during your first weeks in this world. It's an interesting time for our country - we elected a new President last November and Obama is the first African-American President ever. Our economy has taken a large downturn, the worst your dad and I can remember in our lifetimes. There is a lot of controversy about the cause (high risk loans being defaulted on has caused some large banks to fail...and then a snowball effect) and what will turn it around. The U.S. government has approved billion-dollar bailouts that are being given to banks and they are now under a microscope on how they spend it. President Obama has a lot of responsibility and I hope he can bring the change to our country that he has promised. Companies are failing and people are losing their jobs - even daddy and I have seen changes at our companies due to the economic crisis. We are still occupying Iraq with no resolution in the near future. I hope that President Obama will bring our troops home soon.
