The Holidays this year...

Christmas, our 9-year anniversary and New Year's passed without much excitement this year. John and I really did not know one day from the next. Our days and nights were quite a blur those first couple weeks as I was nursing every couple hours and Cali did not sleep much at night. But we made it to week 3 and things seemed to get a little better. Especially once we got Cali's feedings figured out...this really helped Cali be more content and she started to sleep more in between feedings. Once we started her on some formula bottles, we also had a little more flexibility on being able to get out of the house.

On Christmas day, 2 fun things happened -- I was able to fit into my old jeans (!) and we went over the Nate & Angela's for Christmas dinner. We had a great time and got to visit with Angela's mom as she was staying with the Millers to help with Gracelyn.

Late on New Year's Day, Julie arrived at the airport from Idaho. John picked her up and she stayed with us for 10 days. What a wonderful help this was! She cooked for us and cleaned our house and of course had lots of cuddle time with Cali. We were sad when she had to go back home. John went back to work on Jan. 5. He said it was hard and that he was missing Cali pretty bad those first few days.
